Wiley expands KnowItAll Raman Spectral Library with new data on microplastics, polymers, and minerals -

Wiley has expanded its KnowItAll Raman Spectral Library Collection, which now includes over 27,000 spectra. The recent additions enhance the breadth and utility of the database for spectral identification, contributing to greater laboratory efficiency and analytical accuracy.

The updated libraries include a new Raman – Marine Microplastic & Biopolymer Samples database featuring 128 spectra of anthropogenic and biopolymer materials; a Raman – Sadtler Polymers & Monomers (Basic 3) database containing 406 Sadtler-quality spectra; and 443 newly added spectra in the Raman – Minerals – Wiley database. These enhancements aim to support environmental research and materials analysis by providing researchers with access to reliable spectral references.

The new datasets are automatically available to current KnowItAll subscribers using the latest software version. Wiley emphasized that adding high-quality Raman data—particularly for materials with environmental relevance—reinforces the role of spectral libraries in improving the reproducibility and efficiency of laboratory workflows.
