Wiley expands prestigious advanced journal portfolio into life and health sciences, strengthens physical science offering -

Wiley, a global leader in research and learning, has announced a major expansion of its highly regarded Advanced Portfolio of journals, moving into new areas within the life and health sciences while deepening its offerings in the physical sciences.

The Advanced Portfolio, which includes renowned titles like Advanced Science and Advanced Materials, is known for publishing high-impact research in materials science, physics, and engineering. Wiley’s strategic move signals a commitment to broadening the interdisciplinary scope of the collection to address complex scientific challenges.

By the end of 2026, Wiley plans to introduce six new Advanced titles in key fields of life and health sciences, including cell and molecular biology, oncology, neuroscience, and plant science. These new journals will provide researchers with platforms to share groundbreaking discoveries that bridge life sciences with emerging technologies.

In addition to the life sciences expansion, Wiley is reinforcing its presence in the physical sciences, focusing on areas like chemistry and artificial intelligence (AI). Building on the success of Advanced Intelligent Systems, two new AI-focused journals, Advanced Intelligent Discovery and Advanced Robotics Research, are set to launch by the end of 2024. Additionally, Advanced Synthesis and Catalysis will join the portfolio in January 2025, strengthening Wiley’s commitment to cutting-edge chemical research.

Since the launch of Advanced Materials in 1988, Wiley has been dedicated to creating a top-tier family of journals that highlight scientific innovation. Today, the Advanced Portfolio is recognized globally for publishing ground breaking research with tangible real-world applications.

To support this expansion, Wiley has unveiled a new home for the Advanced Portfolio on the Wiley Online Library, along with a refreshed social media presence and a new brand identity. The Advanced Portfolio site of the Wiley Online Library offers more details about the upcoming journals and the portfolio's growth.
