In a move that significantly boosts open access publishing opportunities for Tunisian researchers, Wiley, a leading global publisher, announced a landmark three-year agreement with the University National Center of Scientific and Technical Documentation (CNUDST).
This first-of-its-kind deal in Tunisia, and Wiley's second in Africa, unlocks a two-fold benefit for Tunisian scholars. They will gain full reading access to Wiley's extensive journal collection, encompassing a wealth of knowledge across various disciplines. Additionally, researchers affiliated with institutions under Tunisia's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS) will be offered a set number of tokens (75) to publish their work as open access within Wiley's impressive portfolio of over 1,300 hybrid open access journals.
This collaboration aligns with Wiley's ongoing commitment to fostering open access research. The company boasts over 100 such agreements worldwide, impacting more than 2,800 institutions.
Open access publishing removes paywalls, allowing research to be freely available to a wider audience. This not only accelerates scientific progress but also fosters international collaboration and knowledge exchange. Wiley's partnership with CNUDST is a significant step forward for Tunisian researchers, empowering them to share their findings with the global scientific community.
