Wiley partners with CAPES to expand open access access for Brazilian researchers -

Wiley, a global leader in research and learning, has announced a transformative three-year partnership with the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES). The agreement, which provides researchers from 434 institutions within the CAPES consortium access to Wiley’s full portfolio of nearly 2,000 academic journals, also supports unlimited open access publishing across Wiley’s hybrid journal portfolio.

This collaboration, which extends to Brazil’s federal universities and research institutions, will benefit approximately six million researchers and students who rely on the CAPES Portal de Periódicos. By granting access to high-quality academic resources, the agreement will enhance the visibility of Brazilian research on the global stage and foster greater collaboration with international scholars.

Under the new partnership, Brazilian researchers will be able to publish their work open access without the associated fees, enabling their research to reach a broader audience and increasing its global impact. The agreement aligns with Wiley’s continued commitment to advancing open access and providing researchers with the tools they need to thrive.

The CAPES-Wiley partnership is one of many transformative agreements Wiley has established worldwide, continuing to drive the open access movement and expand access to scholarly research across global institutions.

Through this agreement, Brazilian researchers will gain invaluable tools and resources to support their research journey and improve their engagement with the broader academic community.
