Wiley-VCH announces the release of the 5th Edition of MPW Spectral Library -

Wiley-VCH, part of the scientific and technical publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., has announced the release of the 5th Edition of the Maurer/Pfleger/Weber (MPW) spectral library for clinical and forensic toxicologists.

The Mass Spectral Library of Drugs, Poisons, Pesticides, Pollutants and their Metabolites, 5th Edition is an indispensable tool for compound identification and has been extensively updated with 1,780 new data sets containing new compounds, their metabolites and derivatives.

This innovative spectral database now features 10,430 mass spectra and GC retention indices of compounds in over 175 classifications such as biomolecules, anticonvulsants, and more. These groups include older and new psychoactive substances, almost all relevant therapeutic drugs, as well as 7,800 of their metabolites. Of these compounds, 66% of featured spectra are fully unique to the MPW database when compared to NIST 2014 and Wiley Registry 11th Edition libraries.

Available in most common instrument manufacturer formats, this digital mass spectral library comes bundled with two print volumes. The print volumes (1756 pages) provide a clear overview of experimental methods, quantitative determination, method development, as well as lists of all compounds in order of molecular mass, showing a reference mass spectrum as well as structural formula, exact mass, GC retention times, other relevant experimental data, and their toxicological categories.

More information about this database is available at http://www.wiley.com/WileyCDA/Section/id-823660.html and online demonstrations are available on request. Compound coverage verification for this chemical database is freely available at Compound Search.
