Wolters Kluwer Health and Vanderbilt University’s Jean and Alexander Heard Libraries have announced a collaboration to support medical research and expand access to scholarly research, with the agreement running through 2028.
The read-and-publish agreement provides increased access to Vanderbilt research through Lippincott’s open access and hybrid journals and expands Wolters Kluwer’s read-and-publish offerings in North America.
Rafael Sidi, Senior VP & General Manager of Health Research, Wolters Kluwer Health, highlighted that research institutions are navigating a complex transition to open access while ensuring publication in established medical journals. He added that supporting this evolving publishing environment is intended to assist healthcare professionals, medical researchers, and the broader community in informing policy, patient care, and research progress.
This collaboration gives Vanderbilt researchers access to medical journals within the Lippincott portfolio and simplifies the path to open access publishing. Wolters Kluwer indicates a commitment to a sustainable model that adapts to Vanderbilt’s needs, supports researchers and library priorities, and increases the global reach of their work.
Vanderbilt University Librarian Jon Shaw noted that the agreement expands access to Vanderbilt research across a range of journals and is expected to accelerate the university’s scholarly output by enabling authors to share discoveries more quickly and collaborate with scholars and practitioners worldwide.
The Lippincott portfolio includes nearly 400 indexed titles. The full list of journals included under the agreement is available.
