Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer has announced that Sean Benson, Vice President of Innovation, Clinical Solutions, will participate in a panel discussion on data analytics at Health Datapalooza 2015 in Washington D.C. The session, 'Innovation in Action: From Algorithms to Clinical Change,' will take place on June 1 from 1:45-3 p.m. and explore how advanced analytics can lead to change at a clinical level.
During the session, Benson will discuss the work underway in Wolters Kluwer's Innovation lab focused on developing decision support technology that harnesses patient data and clinical knowledge to improve sepsis care. The project is part of the company's goal of addressing disparities in clinical IT systems—a problem that often forces clinicians to make decisions based on fragmented information.
Benson will address the critical issues surrounding siloed medical data and how bridging the information divide can improve patient care, which speaks to the panel's culminating topic on developing solutions for payers and providers using big data. Joining Benson on the panel, which will be moderated by Nick Dawson, MHA, Executive Director of Innovation at Johns Hopkins Sibley Hospital, will be Dr. Basit Chaudhry, Founder and CEO of Tuple Health.
