Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that Lippincott NCLEX-RN® PassPoint has been selected as the only NCLEX Exam preparation solution officially endorsed by the Canadian Nursing Students' Association (CNSA). Lippincott PassPoint is a prominent NCLEX-preparation learning tool in the US, and is now poised to become a familiar resource in Canada.
Beginning in 2015, all new nurses in Canada will be required to pass the standard US National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) to meet certification. Although all registered nurses working in the US are highly familiar with and have passed the NCLEX, this is the first time it will be required in Canada.
Lippincott PassPoint is a powerful, online learning tool created specifically to help students hone their understanding and improve preparedness for NCLEX-RN. The product is powered by prepU, an adaptive learning system that continually adjusts to each student's demonstrated level of learning. The NCLEX is a computerised adaptive test, so the adaptive nature of PassPoint provides an authentic practice experience. Research shows that nearly 99 percent of students who use PassPoint report that they pass NCLEX — more than 10 percentage points higher than the US national average.
In PassPoint, students can take practice quizzes that adapt in difficulty and reinforce knowledge of individual needs, topics or nursing concepts. With each new quiz, the system adapts to the student's current knowledge level, so the questions are neither too easy nor too hard. They also can take simulated NCLEX-RN exams to gauge their readiness for the actual licensure experience.
