Scientific and technology publisher Woodhead Publishing, UK, has announced the incorporation of a joint venture company in India in partnership with its agent Sara Books. Called Woodhead Publishing India Private Limited, the company will publish books in materials, engineering, food science / technology, textiles and environmental technology.
Founded in 1989, Woodhead Publishing is a mid-sized independent publisher of scientific and technical books. India has risen steadily up the ranks in recent years to now represent the company's third largest market. Also, Indian technology has also grown hugely in recent years and Woodhead India plans to tap into this resource to produce some best selling technical books for sale both in India and overseas.
Ravindra Saxena, who founded Sara Books in 2004, will be the Managing Director of Woodhead Publishing India.
