Atypon, a provider of software to the scientific and scholarly publishing industry, announced the recent launch of the World Bank's new and redesigned eLibrary website. Driven by Atypon's Literatum, the new eLibrary website delivers enhanced online services so researchers can more easily discover and engage with World Bank publications.
By upgrading the eLibrary website to Literatum, the World Bank aims to improve the user experience and innovate as a publisher. The new eLibrary enables researchers, faculty and students to run more precise searches using Literatum's search engine, which offers full text and metadata-based searches. Users can also search the latest World Bank publications at the chapter level, browse content by region, country, and topic, and view "Most Popular" content.
Other features and benefits of the new eLibrary website include individual user accounts which allow researchers to bookmark favourites, save search results and receive content alerts; the ability to export citation data to reference management software such as ProCite, BibText and EndNote; and content sharing via email and social media.
The World Bank eLibrary offers full-text access to the complete collection of World Bank books, working papers, and journal articles – including the World Bank Research Observer and the World Bank Economic Review – published since the 1990s. The eLibrary covers more than 20 areas of research related to poverty and development including economic and human development, climate change, agriculture, infrastructure, health, education, natural resources, policy, law, gender equality, and emerging markets.
