World Scientific Publishing Company, IISc announce publishing collaboration -

Scientific publisher World Scientific Publishing Company (WSPC), Singapore, and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), India, have announced an agreement to co-publish a series of textbooks and monographs by prominent scientists and authors from IISc and other international scientific and educational institutions. The first in the series is expected to be a book by leading scientist Professor CNR Rao on "Trends in Chemistry of Materials". The IISc, which is celebrating its Centenary Year this year, is a premier post-graduate institution of research and higher learning. The institute currently ranks first in India in terms of research output (citation and impact factor).

This collaboration is expected to contribute significantly in disseminating current Indian scientific advancements worldwide. In addition, the collaboration also proposes to bring to India the best scientific ideas and thoughts across the world in select priority areas through specially designed Indian editions. Monographs will include latest advancements in fields like nanotechnology, superconductivity, modern applications of automata theory, game theory, etc.

Textbooks/lecture notes for undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be also published in all major engineering disciplines. Lectures by designated Centenary Professors - eminent scientists and science teachers from all over the world - will be published in appropriate formats. This partnership was officially signed by Max Phua, Executive Director of WSPC, and Professor P Balaram, Director of IISc.
