Dr. Yi Rong has been appointed as the fifth Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics (JACMP) by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
Dr. Rong is a professor of radiation oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona with nearly two decades of clinical and research experience in medical physics and radiation oncology. Her academic background includes studies at Peking University and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
As Editor-in-Chief, she plans to focus on streamlining the peer review process, broadening the journal’s international editorial and reviewer network, and introducing new content categories such as patient-centered innovations and technology frontiers.
JACMP, established in 2000 as one of the earliest gold open access journals in its field, publishes monthly and covers applied research in areas including radiation therapy physics, imaging physics, and radiation measurements. The journal maintains a global readership and author base, and is supported by AAPM, which represents over 10,000 medical physicists in more than 96 countries.
