Building a custom taxonomy for digital asset management - A few Approaches -


Libraries have not allowed the transition to digital to pass them. With the advent of digital expression, forward-looking librarians are trying to mirror what's happened on the web by enabling the same conversational loop in libraries with help of Digital Asset Management (DAM).

DAM has evolved and in its current avatar, it involves machine learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI). That is why, it is expected to play a central role in the semantic web, where new metadata schemas will enable computers to read websites. Truth be told, AI-powered image recognition and metadata tagging have arrived. However, the current iterations will not deliver the expected value if libraries do not have a custom taxonomy for DAM.
