Call for Proposals on Broadening the Hash-Sharing Database’s Taxonomy Framework -

The Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) is seeking proposals for briefing papers on the feasibility of expanding the taxonomy of hashed content included in its hash-sharing database. GIFCT intends to use the briefing papers to make the hash-sharing database relevant to the current global terrorist and violent extremist challenges.

The sensitive nature of sharing hashes and the need for an agreed-upon taxonomy framework were limiting the scope of the hash-sharing database. Hence, GIFCT is looking to sponsor up to five proposals from international experts on how to expand the hash-sharing taxonomy framework. Besides, embellishing the hash-sharing taxonomy framework would ensure increased parity and understanding of how violent extremist content can manifest. Furthermore, GIFCT also wants the experts to think about taxonomies and severity frameworks that could assist its members in decision-making.

Details on the deadlines and the format of the proposal can be found here.
