Korean Government to Establish K-Taxonomy for Defining Environmentally Sustainable Industries and Economic Activities -

The Republic of Korea is taking decisive action to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 by establishing K-taxonomy- a green taxonomy to help investors make sound investments and lending decisions and protect them from greenwashing.

Having a K-taxonomy will help the Korean authorities and investors effectively mobilize green finance and make socially responsible investments. The taxonomy will also enable the government to get all sectors to support its vision by helping to align them with what is sustainable.

Furthermore, the K-taxonomy will offer a robust and sustainable institutional framework for the Korean government to drive a nationwide transformation and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The taxonomy will also support the financial strategies formulated to direct the economy towards a greener destination.
