(ibls.com): The EU Copyright Directive mandates member states to provide adequate sanctions and remedies for the infringement of rights and obligations set out in this Directive. The sanctions must be effective, proportionate, and persuasive. Also, member states must make sure that such sanctions and remedies are applied. The Directive requires Member states to make available actions for damages and the mechanisms of injunction and, when appropriate, seizure of infringing material and devices, products or components. Injunctions against intermediaries should also be available in each member state.
