Wiley-Blackwell content now available to universities and publicly-funded institutions in Germany -

Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, has completed agreements to provide access to nearly 400 journal backfiles to users in research institutions and teaching universities across Germany.

All universities and publicly-funded institutions in Germany can now provide access to most journal backfiles from Wiley-Blackwell through a nationwide license funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). A deal struck with the Universitätsbibliothek Johann Christian Senckenberg Frankfurt/Main provides access to 21 journal backfile collections from Wiley, up from nine collections previously available. In addition, a separate deal with the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich will provide access to the backfiles of 239 journals from Blackwell.

Wiley InterScience Backfile Collections are grouped into tightly-defined subject disciplines. In each collection full coverage dates back to Volume 1, Issue 1 of each journal, including inaugural issues of seminal titles such as Hepatology, Reviews in Medical Virology, Journal of Pathology, Annals of Neurology, Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, Genetic Epidemiology and Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics.

Included in the 239 backfiles from Blackwell are key titles such as Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, FEMS Microbiology Letters and Journal of Advanced Nursing.

Eligible libraries which are already registered for the Wiley collections will have their access to the additional 12 collections activated automatically. Libraries which have not yet registered are invited to register now by visiting www.nationallizenzen.de.
