Academic publisher SAGE has announced a publishing partnership with the Society for Modeling and Simulation International. Under the deal, SAGE will publish the journal JDMS: The Journal of Defense Modeling and Simulation: Applications, Methodology, Technology, beginning in June.
A quarterly peer reviewed journal, JDMS is devoted to advancing the practice, science, and art of modeling and simulation as it relates to the military and defence. The primary focus of the journal is to rigorously document technical lessons derived from practical experience. The journal also publishes work related to the advancement of defence systems modeling and simulation technology, methodology, and theory.
JDMS will be made available as a combined bundle with Simulation, its sister journal at the Society of Modeling Simulation International. The journal will be sent to all existing Simulation subscribers, providing significant extra value for readers. It will be available from SAGE during 2009 as a free online-only publication, including the entire backfile dating back to 2004. Starting in 2010 the journal will be sold in both print and online. The first issue to be published by SAGE will be vol. 5 issue 1, year 2009. The new website on SAGE Journals Online is http://dms.sagepub.com.
