Semantico, OECD announce new partnership -

Online publishing solutions provider Semantico Limited, UK, has announced a new partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to implement a new bibliographic metadata engine to support OECD's online publishing solutions.

Semantico will work with OECD to develop an internal repository of publication metadata for OECD's books, journals, working papers and databases. The repository will export a variety of bibliographical publication metadata in different languages and formats to a range of dissemination channels, including library systems. The data model used will provide a flexible publication description to fit the needs of the many discovery services used by OECD readers and allow increased flexibility in creating information solutions for OECD's clients. The system will underpin OECD's next-generation online platform, OECD iLibrary, due for release in 2009. The repository will be built using XML database technology and will offer OECD increased agility to support the needs of today's digital publishing environments.

Semantico will utilise the MarkLogic Server to ensure cost-effective and agile solution to handle the diversity of OECD's data and requirements, strengthening Semantico's relationship with Mark Logic Corporation as preferred technology partner.
