Healthcare solutions provider the Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that the Parrish Medical Center, a community hospital in Titusville, Florida, has implemented Clinical Xpert CareFocus and Clinical Xpert Navigator which are both part of its Clinical Xpert suite of workflow solutions. These tools enable automated identification of high-risk patients within a hospital and give clinicians access to comprehensive patient information at any time via the Internet, smartphones and other mobile devices.
CareFocus, a clinical surveillance and profiling engine, allows clinicians to build clinical profiles that identify high-risk patients from the entire hospital census based on their medications, laboratory results, vital signs, diagnoses, observations, active orders, and demographics. Typical sets include, but are not limited to, profiles for identifying patients with acute myocardial infarction (with and without aspirin), influenza, C-difficile toxins, urinary tract infections, MRSA infection, and diabetes management issues. Custom profiles can be built based on the specific programme and clinical needs of an individual hospital or clinician.
Navigator gives clinicians instant, real-time access to clinical data via mobile and web-based devices. It consolidates data from multiple components of the hospital information system - including demographics, medications, radiology and laboratory results, transcribed reports and admission, discharge and transfer information. This ensures clinicians have access to critical patient information throughout the continuum of care.
