Safari Books Online, a US-based e-reference joint venture between publishers O'Reilly Media, Inc. and Pearson Technology Group, has announced the addition of Apress books to the Safari Books Online platform. The move is in response to requests from the company's growing base of corporate customers and individual users.
Safari Books Online provides the most current and comprehensive library of business and technology publications, offering more than 7,500 books, articles and videos to its subscribers. Publishers contributing to the content on Safari Books Online own 85 percent of the market for technology content.
Seventy new Apress titles are currently available to Safari Books Online subscribers which cover topics ranging from Open Source to Java to .Net.
Apress has been making its entire list of published books available as e-books since 2005 via the Apress eBookshop at http://eBookshop.apress.com. In September 2008, the technology publisher made more than 200 of its books available directly from Amazon's Kindle Store as Kindle Editions.
