Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, has announced a publishing partnership with the Australian Anthropological Society (AAS). Under the deal, Wiley-Blackwell will publish the society's The Australian Journal of Anthropology (TAJA). The global publisher will also publish the backfiles from AAS's previous publication, Mankind.
The Australian Journal of Anthropology publishes scholarly papers and book reviews in anthropology and its related disciplines. Although wide ranging in its areas of interest, the journal will spotlight theoretically focused analyses and ethnographic reports based on fieldwork carried out in Australia and neighboring countries in the Pacific and Asian regions. To be published three times a year from April 2009, beginning with Volume 20, Issue 1, Wiley-Blackwell will publish the journal in print and online via Wiley InterScience, the online content delivery platform from John Wiley & Sons.
This new partnership reinforces Wiley-Blackwell's already prominent position as the 'place to be' for the social sciences. Publisher of over 450 journals with renowned society partners - including the American Anthropological Association and the Royal Anthropological Institute -Wiley-Blackwell continues to provide the scholarly community with access to the highest-quality content available.
