Wiley and YBP Library Services announce online books agreement -

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, has announced a new agreement with YBP Library Services, a leading provider of materials to academic libraries. The partnership was formed to address the growing need of libraries to discover and order book content in the format of their choice using one consolidated book-purchasing channel.

Under the agreement, YBP will add Wiley's full range of online books, book series, and online reference works to its Global Online Bibliographic Information (GOBI) database. YBP's library customers will now be able to view and select online books alongside print and e-books, with no change to the library's existing workflow. The result will be a fully integrated library acquisition process, from selection and profiling to ordering and invoicing.

Wiley's expansive Online Books programme comprises titles published from the 1940s to the present. The programme consists of books in the life sciences, physical sciences, medicine, engineering, social sciences and humanities and includes multi-volume book series and essential reference titles available on Wiley InterScience. Wiley plans to add about 1500 - 2000 newly published titles each year.

A Baker & Taylor company, YBP Library Services provides books and supporting collection management and technical services to academic, research, and special libraries in North America and around the world. The company's online, interactive bibliographic information service, GOBI, provides access to 2.0 million titles in an English-language database.
