STM publisher Springer, Germany, has announced a publishing partnership with the Education Research Institute of Seoul National University in Korea. Under the deal, Springer will publish the latter's journal, Asia Pacific Education Review (APER), from 2009.
Published quarterly, the Asia Pacific Education Review aims to stimulate research, encourage academic exchange and foster the professional development of scholars and researchers interested in educational and cultural issues in the Asia Pacific region. The journal covers all areas of educational research, with a focus on cross-cultural, comparative and other studies within a broad Asia-Pacific context. Springer will publish APER both electronically and in print beginning in 2009 with Volume 10, Issue 1. The journal's back issues to Volume 1 will be available on http://www.springerlink.com Springer's online information platform. Features include fast, electronic publication in Online First, Cross Reference Linking and Table of Contents Alerts.
In a related announcement, Springer recently renewed its publishing cooperation with the National Science Council, Taiwan, to continue co-publishing the International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education. The journal publishes original, peer-reviewed articles on a variety of topics and research methods in both science and mathematics education.
The agreements are seen to considerably enhance Springer's position in education publishing in the Asia Pacific region.
