Ingram Publisher Services Inc. (IPS), a US-based full service book distribution company, has announced a new distribution agreement with Consumers Union, non-profit publisher of Consumer Reports magazine and www.ConsumerReports.org.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ingram will distribute book titles published by Consumers Union including the forthcoming Consumer Reports Best Baby Products (10th edition). It is expected that the deal will help put Consumer Reports' advice and reports into the hands of consumers. According to company representatives, consumers need trusted information to make right choices during a tough economic situation.
Ingram Content Group provides a range of physical and digital services to the book industry. It is a wholesaler of trade books, spoken audio, magazines, and a provider of demand-driven printing and digital solutions for publishers.
Consumers Union seeks to work for a fair, just and safe marketplace for all consumers, and to empower consumers. To maintain independence and impartiality, it accepts no outside advertising, no free test samples, and has no agenda other than protecting consumer interests. The organisation supports itself through the sale of information products and services, individual contributions and a few noncommercial grants.
