Management research publisher Emerald Group Publishing Limited, UK, has announced that, following the 2007 Journal Citation Reports recently released by Thomson Reuters, it has achieved its best ever year in 2007 - with more journals now ranked by Thomson Reuters, one of the major indicators of quality academic research. Highlights include the Baltic Journal of Management, a notable achievement in only its third year, Sensor Review and the Journal of Managerial Psychology, which have all recently been accepted onto Thomson Scientific.
In addition, majority of those journals ranked by Thomson Scientific improved or were granted new Impact Factor scores compared to 2006 figures. The International Journal of Operations and Production Management almost doubled its Impact Factor from the previous year, achieving 1.054, as did the International Journal of Manpower. Four journals were given impressive debut Impact Factors. These include British Food Journal (0.520), Pigment & Resin Technology (0.626), International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology (0.404) and Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing (0.476).
The average Impact Factor for Emerald journals in 2007 increased to just over 0.500. It is for the first time that Emerald's average has topped the 0.500 mark.
