Thieme Publishers report strong performance in 2007 Journal Citation Reports -

Thieme Publishers, part of STM publisher Thieme Publishing Group, Germany, has announced a significant increase in impact factors as reported in the Thomson Reuters 2007 Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Its journals experienced substantial increases across the majority of subject areas, including key fields such as Critical Care Medicine, Hemostasis, and Hepatology. The most significant gains were found in Seminars in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Seminars in Liver Disease, and Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis.

From 2006 to 2007, the impact factor for Seminars in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine increased by 50 percent while Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, rose by 17 percent. Seminars in Liver Disease continued to rise in its field, climbing from 5.302 to 5.814 in the same period.

JCR is a qualitative tool for ranking, evaluating, categorising, and comparing peer-reviewed journals. Impact factors measures how frequently the average article in a journal has been cited in the previous two years. It is the benchmark for assessing the importance of a journal relative to other publications in the same field and is one of the most widely used tools for qualitative analysis in scientific publication.
