Information services provider Thomson Reuters, US, has announced that Web of Knowledge and EndNote Web are now available in Japanese. The interface provides every step, from research and analysis to submission and publishing, in the local language to suit Japanese users. Web of Knowledge is also available in Chinese since October 2008.
Web of Knowledge is the multidisciplinary research platform by Thomson Reuters that lets users search numerous citation databases simultaneously via one interface. It provides straightforward access to more than 23,000 of the world’s leading peer reviewed journals, 200,000 conference proceedings and more than 100 years of comprehensive backfile (archival) and citation data. EndNote Web is a web-based reference organiser and writing solution, fully integrated with Web of Knowledge and EndNote. For professional researchers, EndNote Web is a complement to EndNote on the desktop, enabling them to manage references easily while remaining mobile.
Although the content of Web of Knowledge remains in English, the Japanese interface provides an easier and more comfortable environment for non-English users to access multidisciplinary scientific works available on the platform. The Japanese interface for Web of Knowledge and EndNote Web is automatically populated if the desktop PC is in a Japanese environment. The user has a choice of selecting Japanese, English or Chinese interface.
