Institutions across the Republic of Kazakhstan gain access to Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge -

Thomson Reuters, a US-based provider of information for healthcare professionals, has announced a three-year national agreement with the Republic of Kazakhstan's National Center for Scientific and Technical Information. The deal will bring Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge to 322 academic, research and government institutions across the country.

The National Center for Scientific and Technical Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the largest information centers among the post-Soviet Union countries and the initiator of a set of breakthrough projects in Kazakhstan science.

The agreement is the largest for Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge platform in Central Asia, and is the third agreement the company has signed with a national government during the past twelve months. The national agreements for Thomson Reuters Web of Knowledge ensure access to the most comprehensive source of citation information for multiple institutions within a country, and represent a key step towards enhancing the national research environment for the governments involved.

Under the agreement, researchers throughout Kazakhstan will gain access to the world's leading citation databases, enabling them to quickly search and discover the most high impact literature in the sciences, social sciences and the arts and humanities. In addition, the powerful analysis tools within the platform will enable institutions across the country to evaluate and benchmark their own research with that of the peers around the world, and to identify possible opportunities for future collaboration.
