Academic publisher Maney Publishing, UK, has announced a new publishing arrangement with the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) to re-launch the latter's journal in 2012. EMWA has been publishing The Write Stuff since 1998. The title will change to Medical Writing from Volume 21, to reflect more clearly the interests of the journal's authors and readership. The re-launch will take place at the EMWA conference in London on November 3-4, 2011.
Medical Writing will continue to expand as a unique resource of research, opinion, and training articles for medical communication. It will include regular columns on medical translation, regulatory and manuscript writing, and retain its strong tradition of debate, focusing on authorship, ghost-writing, plagiarism, conflicts of interest and duplicate publication. The popular articles on grammar and style in scientific writing will also continue as a prominent feature of the journal.
As of January 2012, current contents will be available online via ingentaconnect, where subscribers can access the full text, as well as table of contents alerts, and linked article references via CrossRef. Maney will assume responsibility for the production, marketing, sales, distribution and subscription fulfilment of the journal.
