The Coordination for the Improvement of Personnel in Higher Education (CAPES) has expanded its agreement with the Healthcare business of Thomson Reuters to include the provision of clinical content to Brazil's Sentinel Hospital Network.
Through CAPES, Thomson Reuters provides its Micromedex solutions - including evidence-based information on drugs and drug interactions, disease management, toxicology, alternative medicine, and intravenous drug compatibility - to Brazil's academia and, now, its hospital pharmaco-vigilance network.
CAPES, a federal agency affiliated with Brazil's Ministry of Education, is responsible for the Brazilian post-graduate academic system. It supports, evaluates and regulates academic programmes with the aim of achieving standards of excellence.
The Sentinel Hospital Network is a project supported and funded by ANVISA, the National Health Surveillance Agency in Brazil. ANVISA is an independently administered, financially autonomous regulatory agency managed by a Collegiate Board of Directors. Its network spans the country and will add more hospitals as they meet the criteria to become participants.
