Ingram Content Group Inc., US, has announced that the East Carolina School of Dental Medicine has selected its e-textbook management and distribution platform, VitalSource, as a cornerstone of its new e-learning environment for dental students.
Vital Source worked directly with leading education publishers to develop a custom e-content package to meet the specific needs of ECUSoDM. The school implemented the VitalSource platform as part of a larger technology initiative. Students and educators at the school will now be able to easily access content via download, online or through their mobile devices including popular iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch devices.
With more than 2 million users, VitalSource, claims to be the most used e-textbook platform in education today. With a presence on 6,000 campuses in 180 countries, educators and students have access to tens of thousands of titles from the leading textbook publishers, including Elsevier, Pearson, Cengage, Macmillan, John Wiley and Sons, McGraw-Hill, Wolters Kluwer, Oxford University Press, Taylor & Francis and others.
