Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced a major new acquisition that will see the publisher take joint ownership of the Journal of Surgical Case Reports. The first issue of the journal will be published by OUP from January 2013.
OUP will take 50 percent share in the title from January 2013 in a new long-term collaboration which will continue to strengthen OUP’s Medicine collection and its Open Access programme.
Journal of Surgical Case Reports is an open access, peer-reviewed online journal that will consider any original case report that expands the field of surgery. The journal aims to publish reports showing unexpected or unusual presentations of a disease; description of a rare surgical condition; an unexpected event in the management of a patient; description of a new surgical procedure; and innovation in surgery.
