Emerald reports continued growth in impact factors -

Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing, UK, has announced growth of impact factors across its portfolio following the recent publication of the 2010 Journal Citation Report (JCR) by Thomson Reuters.

27 titles have recorded an increase in their impact factor, which measures the average citations to articles published in a journal. Six titles have received an impact factor for the first time, taking the total number of titles to 54 indexed in the Science Citation Index and the Social Science Citation Index, the highest in the company's history.

Among notable performances is the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management, which has received Emerald's highest ever impact factor, 2.617; Supply Chain Management recorded its highest ever 5-year impact factor of 3.427. The Journal of Managerial Psychology has also recorded a first-time impact factor over 2.000, and ten other titles have improved their rankings within subject categories.
