STM publisher Springer has announced that it will publish the American Society for Mass Spectrometry's official journal - Journal of The American Society for Mass Spectrometry. Springer will publish the journal, previously published by Elsevier, starting in January 2011. Professor Michael L. Gross of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, will serve as Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
A monthly, the Journal of The American Society for Mass Spectrometry publishes research papers from all fields in which mass spectrometry can play a role. This includes chemistry, physics, geology and environmental science as well as the biological, health, and life sciences. The journal is comprehensive, and publishes papers on both fundamentals and applications of mass spectrometry.
In addition to original research papers, the journal also publishes communications, application notes, accounts and perspectives.
