Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG), UK, has announced that the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has signed an agreement allowing researchers across the country to access Nature and Scientific American. The deal was signed with the General Directorate for Scientific Research and Technological Development (DG-RSDT), which is part of the Ministry, and will provide access for up to 60,000 scientists until August 31, 2012.
The agreement provides site license access to all the research centers across Algeria. Scientists will now be able to access the content through a dedicated portal linking through to the titles.
The DG-RSDT was established in 2009, to support the Ministry's existing Research Centre on Scientific and Technical Information (CERIST). Both institutions work in partnership to develop Algeria's academic sector and to progress scientific research around the country.
