SAGE to publish official journal of the Literacy Research Association -

Academic publisher SAGE has begun a partnership with the Literacy Research Association to publish the latter's official journal - Journal of Literacy Research (JLR).

The Literacy Research Association is a professional organisation for individuals who share an interest in research and the dissemination of information about literacy and literacy instruction. Members of the organisation receive the journal as a benefit of membership.

Previously published as the Journal of Reading Behavior, the quarterly JLR was launched in 1969 and has grown steadily in recent years. An interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal, JLR publishes research related to literacy, language, and literacy and language education from preschool through adulthood. The journal publishes research and scholarly papers, including original research, critical reviews of research, conceptual analyses, and theoretical essays. Articles represent diverse research paradigms and theoretical orientations. JLR seeks to serve as a forum for sharing divergent areas of research and pedagogy and encourages papers that open dialogue among professionals from a variety of disciplines.

The journal is now available through SAGE Journals Online (http://jlr.sagepub.com) and authors can now submit articles for review through SAGE Track.
