Education materials publisher McGraw-Hill Education, US, has announced that it will provide unprecedented access to many of its K-12 online programmes to the California Learning Resource Network (CLRN). Part of the Statewide Education Technology Services initiative from the California Department of Education, CLRN seeks to provide educators with a 'one-stop shop' for the selection of digital learning resources aligned to the State Board of Education academic content standards.
As part of McGraw-Hill's broad commitment to developing and providing electronic teaching and learning tools to classrooms in nearly every district in the US, the company has submitted seven interactive digital programmes to Phase 3 of the CLRN Digital Textbook Initiative. The company claims to be the only major publisher to provide content through this phase of the initiative.
McGraw-Hill's interactive online courses are under review by CLRN and include some of the company's most popular titles for history, government, economics, and biology.
CLRN is intended to provide K-12 educators with the information they need to make informed decisions about selection, procurement and instructional use of supplemental digital learning resources. All content provided through CLRN is required to be aligned to the California Content Standards, and support, enhance or extend standards-based classroom instruction, providing additional materials for teachers.
