DeepDyve, a research engine for the Deep Web, has announced that STM publisher Springer has agreed to make journal articles from more than 100 journals in key subject areas such as biomedical, public health, and business and economics available through DeepDyve's online rental service for research articles.
Springer's articles are expected to be available for rent via DeepDyve in the latter part of the first quarter of 2011. DeepDyve users will then be able to search for and rent Springer articles using their DeepDyve accounts. Additionally, Springer's online platform, SpringerLink, will provide an option to click directly to DeepDyve as a way to provide non- subscribers a simple way to rent articles via DeepDyve.
Users will have the option to rent individual articles for a 24-hour period. For people who want to rent a higher volume of articles or would like longer- term access to their articles, DeepDyve also offers monthly plans.
