Routledge, part of the Taylor & Francis Group, has partnered with the Society of Actuaries (SOA) to publish the North American Actuarial Journal (NAAJ) in 2013.
NAAJ is said to scientifically address the domestic and international problems, interests and concerns of actuaries, their customers and public policy decision-makers. It publishes papers from traditional fields of actuarial practice, such as life and health insurance, pensions, employee benefits, property and casualty insurance and finance and investments. Particular attention is given to new or developing areas of actuarial practice. The Journal seeks to stimulate research on emerging public policy debates, technology improvements, demographic trends, multidisciplinary topics, globalisation issues, and the like. SOA, through research and education, seeks to advance actuarial knowledge and improve decision making to benefit society. The aim is to enhance the ability of actuaries to be trusted financial and business advisors on problems involving uncertain future events.
The SOA is said to be a provider of globally recognised credentials establishing actuaries as business leaders who measure and manage risk to support financial security for individuals, organisations and the public. Its vision is for actuaries to be the leading professionals in the measurement and management of risk.
