Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, has announced that it has been selected by the FDI World Dental Federation to publish their journal, the International Dental Journal (IDJ).
Wiley-Blackwell will begin publishing the IDJ starting with the first 2011 issue in February. The journal is edited by Dr. Stephen Hancocks and features peer-reviewed, scientific articles relevant to international oral health issues.
The journal will be made available electronically via Wiley Online Library, Wiley's online publishing platform. Additionally, starting in 2012, the International Dental Journal will be included in Wiley-Blackwell's consortia collection which is expected to increase the distribution of the publication by about 3,000 additional libraries worldwide, as well as over 4,000 institutions in developing countries via philanthropic arrangements such as Research4Life (HINARI, AGORA and OARE), International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications, and the Chinese Academy of Science.
