HARRASSOWITZ, international booksellers and subscription agents, has announced a new distribution agreement with EBL – Ebook Library, an e-book aggregator for academic, corporate, and research libraries worldwide and a ProQuest business. Under the agreement, HARRASSOWITZ customers will have access to EBL's e-book catalogue, which features titles in all subject areas from over 520 major academic and scholarly publishers worldwide.
Librarians can now purchase EBL e-books through HARRASSOWITZ. In addition, user-driven selection can be incorporated into the library's collection development and acquisitions procedures with EBL's pioneered e-book systems, technologies and purchasing models.
Some of EBL's significant features offered by HARRASSOWITZ include proprietary Non-Linear Lending™ model, with multiple-concurrent access for all titles; online and offline access; full-text browse before borrowing or purchasing; full-text search across catalogue; mobile access – compatibility with most mobile devices; and sophisticated admin tools, including real time reporting and budget tracking.
EBL titles are available in OttoEditions, HARRASSOWITZ's online management system for monographs and music scores. HARRASSOWITZ's sophisticated duplication control mechanism links all e-books to their print edition to prevent duplication of orders between print and electronic versions that are supplied by HARRASSOWITZ.
