The American Institute of Physics (AIP) has selected RSuite, a content management system for publishers from Really Strategies, Inc. AIP is a not-for-profit corporation that works to advance and diffuse knowledge of the physical sciences and its applications to human welfare. A pioneer in digital publishing, AIP is also one of the world's largest publishers of physics journals and produces the publications of more than 25 scientific and engineering societies.
Prior to RSuite, AIP did not have a content management system and managed its vast amount of content via a combination of home-grown applications and file systems. RSuite will seek to improve AIP's production workflow, metadata management, usability and delivery of content, which ultimately results in increased revenue. AIP currently has many inbound and outbound content feeds with no central repository that tracks tasks metadata associated with this content.
Implementing RSuite allows AIP to create, store, and manage content in a central location. AIP will manage metadata within RSuite, which affords the organisation better access to curate its content in a meaningful way.
