Publisher Future Science Group, UK, has announced highlights of its latest journal Impact Factor results, with impressive increases across its imprints Future Medicine, Future Science and Expert Reviews, following the recent publication of the new Impact Factors in the 2010 Journal Citation Report (JCR) by Thomson Reuters. Impact Factors, calculated by Thomson Reuters indicate the number of times a published article has been cited during the course of a year - providing an indication on how much of an 'impact' a journals content is making on its research audience.
Together with the increase in impact factors across the Future Medicine and Expert Reviews portfolios, most journals also achieved an improvement in their ranking within specific categories. The star performers were Expert Review of Molecular Diagnostics with an impressive increase to 4.652 from 3.693, Expert Review of Proteomics, with an increase to 4.406 from 3.570 and Regenerative Medicine rising to 3.358 from 2.929 last year.
Many of the publisher's new titles also received their first impact factors in the 2010 Journal Citation Report including Future Science titles; Bioanalysis, coming in with 1.337 and Future Medicinal Chemistry at 1.424. Other titles receiving first-time impact factors included Epigenomics and Future Oncology from Future Medicine which scored 3.429 and 2.455 respectively.
Six titles in the Expert Review series and eight Future Medicine publications had increased Impact Factors in total this year.
