GEN Grupo Editorial Nacional selects Ingram's Vital Source for e-content distribution and support -

Ingram Content Group Inc. has announced that GEN Grupo Editorial Nacional (Grupo GEN), a scientific, technical and professional publisher group in Brazil, has selected its Vital Source solution for e-textbook and digital content production, management and distribution.

Grupo GEN has plans to make more than 3,500 titles available digitally to consumers, and thousands of titles have already been converted to e-textbook format by Vital Source. Customers of Grupo GEN who previously used the company's GEN reader will be transitioned to VitalSource Bookshelf®.

Through the integration of VitalSource Bookshelf, Grupo GEN customers can easily access content via download, and material can be used on a variety of operating systems and devices including Android, iPad™, iPhone®, and iPod Touch®. Users can make notes, highlights and annotations in their e-textbooks, which easily sync across devices. In addition, students can share and subscribe to notes and highlights from their peers.

Grupo GEN titles will continue to be available from Minha Biblioteca, a digital content consortium created by four of Brazil's largest scientific, technical and medical publishers. Vital Source also provides e-textbook distribution and support to this consortium.

The VitalSource Bookshelf platform claims to be the most used e-textbook delivery platform in higher education with more than 4 million users across 6,000 campuses around the world. It uses the latest technology to enhance the learning experience through e-textbooks and digital education. Content from more than 500 of the world's top academic publishers is available to VitalSource Bookshelf platform users, including those living with disabilities, on a variety of operating systems and devices.
