RSC Publishing, the scientific publishing arm of the UK's Royal Society of Chemistry, has announced a new partnership with SureChem. SureChem offers a suite of patent chemistry data solutions developed and operated by Digital Science, a division of Macmillan Publishers Ltd.
The new partnership will enable researchers to quickly and easily find the chemistry data they're searching for across both journals and patents. Both organisations are breaking down the barriers in chemistry information and this collaboration signals another vital step.
RSC Publishing and SureChem have created integrated data links between RSC journal articles, ChemSpider and SureChem patents. These can be accessed via articles on the RSC Publishing Platform, ChemSpider, and SureChem's new free offering, SureChemOpen.
SureChemOpen is free for all users, opening patent chemistry access to the entire scientific community. Journals and patents are linked via the RSC's free ChemSpider database using the standard InChI chemical identifier. This ensures the system is accessible, standards-based and scalable, making it easy for future partners to join.
Researchers can view the links across RSC journals and SureChem patents from article pages on the RSC Publishing Platform (pubs.rsc.org), ChemSpider (www.chemspider.com) or register for a free SureChemOpen account at www.surechem.com.
