Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced a new partnership with the American Society of Mammalogists (ASM).
Under the deal, OUP will publish the Journal of Mammalogy and Mammalian Species, beginning January 2015. The Journal of Mammalogy has been the flagship publication of ASM since 1919 and was voted one of the top 100 most influential serials in biology and medicine of the 20th century. ASM also publishes Mammalian Species, which covers accounts of individual species, reviews books that pertain to specific taxa or topics, and maintains an exceptional mammal images library.
The American Society of Mammalogists is a leader in its field, driving global research, education, conservation, and communication. The ASM is currently composed of around 2,500 members, many of whom are professional scientists. Members of the Society have always had a strong interest in the public good, and this is reflected in their involvement in providing information for public policy, resources management, conservation, and education.
