Annual Reviews, the non-profit publisher that synthesises critical research literature, has partnered with Dartmouth Journal Services and the Sheridan Technology Lab to develop and launch a multi-title full-text iOS and Android app - EconScholar - that will release in October 2012.
The free EconScholar app allows immediate access to the full-text articles of the Annual Review of Economics, the Annual Review of Financial Economics and the Annual Review of Resource Economics for both personal and institutional subscribers. Non-subscribers can access article abstracts and selected complimentary articles.
Authenticated users can read full text articles, view high-resolution images, bookmark articles, search journal content, and access social media tools. Through the integration of social media tools, users can also share content via email, Twitter, and/or Facebook. In addition, the full-text content is automatically cached to the user device, providing full reading capability whether the user is online or offline.
Although the free app requires users to be authenticated in order to access the full-text of articles, the publisher will also include selected complimentary articles, which will be freely accessible to all users of the app.
