STM publisher Elsevier and the American Society for Pain Management Nursing (ASPMN), an organisation dedicated to the advancement and promotion of optimal nursing care for people affected by pain, have announced a collaboration to develop a pain management lesson. The online lesson will be part of a new eLearning product that focuses on helping nursing professional development specialists successfully transition new nurses to the acute-care, medical-surgical setting.
Development of the course is underway, and it is scheduled to launch in early 2016. The course will be rich in interactive elements to promote critical thinking and the application of knowledge in real world clinical situations. Additionally, nursing professional development specialists will have access to several targeted resources to help implement an effective transition program.
This new collaboration adds to Elsevier's library of exclusive, co-developed products with key nursing associations, including the Association for Nursing Professional Development, Emergency Nurses Association, and American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
