ebrary closes 2012 with more than 100 new publishers signed -

ebrary, a ProQuest business, is celebrating a pair of significant achievements as 2013 gets underway. This year marks the 10th anniversary of its flagship product, Academic Complete, a scholarly e-book subscription collection, now used in thousands of university libraries worldwide. The anniversary comes as the company closes another year of vigorous content development with more than 100 new publishers added to the ebrary platform, significantly building its e-book catalogue and library capacity for strategic acquisition.

New ebrary partners include Nova Science, Hackett Publishing, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Australian-based CSIRO Publishing, academic distributor International Specialized Book Services, and independent trade publisher Workman Publishing.

Content from ebrary's new publishing partners will be available through a variety of acquisition models and products including Academic Complete, which has grown to encompass more than 80,000 authoritative titles selected by ebrary’s in-house librarians, with unlimited, multi-user access. Since its introduction in 2003, Academic Complete has become a key resource to support serious research and undergraduate study, earning multiple awards and honours, among them CHOICE Magazine’s Outstanding Academic Title, Library Journal’s Best E-book Database, and SIIA CODiE’s 2013 finalist for Best Service using Aggregated Content.

The database serves as a foundational collection for libraries to strategically apply budget to other models such as patron driven acquisition, short-term loan, and perpetual archive in order to earn the best return on investment. This is central to ebrary’s three-step approach to strategic e-book acquisition: Transition, Diversify and Streamline.
